前橋北部ｽﾀｰｽﾞ – 前橋中央 – 健大高崎
前橋中央においてU-18選出は初となります。
思い返せば、兄遼太郎(前橋北部ｽﾀｰｽﾞ- 前橋中央 – 健大高崎 – HONDA – 現富士大学)の背中を追い前橋中央に入部してきてくれましたが、入部当初は兄に比べて身長も低く細身の選手でした。
それでも技術は高く、体力面で劣る部分を充分補える、まさに少年野球時代のご指導の賜物である選手だと思っていました。
経歴欄にあるように裕次郎は1/8生まれの早生まれです、中学入学時は小さくて当たり前ですよね。
ちなみに兄は8月生まれで入部時にはそれなりの体型でした。
裕次郎は同じ侍JAPAN U-18選出メンバーの中で唯一の早生まれの選手でもあります。
相対年齢効果の影響を受けやすい中学までの時期はというと、投手としては中3でやっと120㎞台後半に届き、野手としてはショートで3番の前橋中央の中では中心選手ですがオールスターメンバーの中ではあまり目立つことは無く、空いているポジションのファーストに回されるような状況でした。
高校入学後に少しずつ相対年齢効果の影響も薄れてきて1年時から外野で起用してもらい、並行して投手としても登板させてもらっていました。
やはり安打の多さからバッティングが印象強い選手だと思いますが、前橋中央的には彼の守備が評価されていことに嬉しさを感じています。
中3時のオールスターでは、その時点での成長度合い・完成度の高い選手に二遊間を譲ってきたと思いますが、少しずつその差を詰めていき、高校年代で内野手として全日本の選手にまでたどり着けたことは、現在小学生や中学生で小さい選手たちへ良いメッセージになってくれたのではないかと思います。
高校野球の入りは外野手、徐々に内野手といったこの流れは兄と同じで、どこでも守れるようになっておくことが強豪校で成功を収められる一つの道であることを後進に示してくれたと思います。
内野から外野へコンバートされることは多いと思いますが、外野から内野へという流れは少ないかと思います。
兄は高3時にサードへコンバートしていただき内野手として注目度を上げ、社会人時代はセカンドを守るまでになりました。
で、裕次郎の転機もセカンドへコンバートしていただいたことに尽きると思います。
高校2年時に投手として登板した際には130㎞台中盤まで球速は伸び、その送球する力の高さがダブルプレー増につながり、かげながら勝利へ貢献してくれていたと感じています。
周囲はこのコンバートに心配の声を上げていました。
が、引き出しというか発想力というか、その辺りに非常に長けた選手だと思っていましたので、これで彼の価値が上がってくれればなぁという期待の方が大きかったです。
特に嬉しかったプレーの
一つ目はセンバツ甲子園で見せた4-4-3のダブルプレー
二つ目は夏の群馬県大会準決勝前橋育英戦で見せてくれたバックハンドからのダブルプレー
共に大一番のここという場面で出せる発想力には、小学校中学校期での動作習得の中にいろいろな蓄積ができていて、さらに高校で得た経験値の高さが結びついて出せたプレーだと思います。
早生まれということや現時点での体型や成熟度を見てもまだまだトレーニングリザーブがあると思います。
さらに裕次郎の選手としてのパスウェイは兄より運を持ち合わせていたようにも感じています。
それらを基に大学でもさらに成長を重ねて4年後に良い報告を届けてほしいと願っております。
あと、大学行くまでグランドにちょいちょい顔出してくださいね。
