10/29(日)にOB戦がホームグランドで行われました。
29期生は38名の大所帯で、この日は高崎高校のOBが模試で参加できないとの連絡があり36名の参加予定が願書提出やインフルエンザで最終的には33名の参加でした。
本当に多くのOBが参加してくれて嬉しい限りです。
多くのOBや保護者の皆さんがグランドへとお越しくださいました。
その中に「あれ？」っとタイムスリップしたかのような感じで27期生・林京平(金島ｺﾝﾄﾞﾙ – 前橋中央 – 農大二高 – 日大国際関係学部)のご両親が重ねて嬉しい報告に来てくださいました。
林京平は中学時代は前橋ボーイズに所属したものの身長は伸び続けていた影響もあり、プレーの安定性には欠け登板機会は少ない投手でした。
27期生は林のような晩熟傾向の選手が多く中学期の戦績は残せませんでしたが、健大高崎に進んだ堀江晃生(ﾘﾄﾙ勝山 – 前橋中央 – 健大高崎 – 筑波大学)が甲子園に出場、前橋商業に進んだ 蛯谷亮介・内田遥己・林悠汰・茂田侑大が揃って関東大会に出場したりと高校に進んでから存在感が出てきた選手が多かった印象です。
林京平は彼らよりも更に晩熟の傾向が強く、高校でも身長が伸び続けたため彼らのような実績を残すこともなく、ベンチ入りすらままならない高校野球生活を送る結果となりました。
それでも当時の農大二高の監督さんからは「5年後」を目指して頑張ろうと励ましてもらっていたとのことです。
監督さんの励まし以上に保護者の方が理解して後押ししたことも本人にとっては大きかったと思います。
何より大きなケガをすることなく今日を迎えられていることも大きいと思います。
無事これ名馬なり、本人の自己分析と自己理解が正しく行われたことと、彼の将来を予測してくださった指導者とご両親に恵まれたことが要因だと思います。
小6で、中3で、高3でと区切りをつけやすい教育のシステムと、その区切りで完全燃焼を求める傾向にある野球界において新たな指標となれるように頑張ってもらいたいです。
後輩たちの目標となれるような大きな大きな選手になってほしいです。
